The full flow for setting up your store, from account creation to your first order.
Chal Bhaee is an ordering platform for four kinds of businesses — restaurants, marts/grocery stores, pharmacies, and online stores. Every business gets its own branded storefront, its own owner dashboard, and its own subdomain (or custom domain) — customers see your brand, not ours.
This guide walks through the full flow of setting up a store from scratch: creating your account, choosing your business type, branding your storefront, building your catalog, configuring locations and delivery, and managing orders day to day. It's written for store owners, not developers.
When you first log in with no store set up yet, you'll be asked what you're setting up. This choice determines which modules and fields your dashboard shows you — it isn't just a label.
You can't change your business type after your store is created, since it shapes your database schema and dashboard layout — pick the one that matches how you actually take orders.
Setup takes two steps:
Once you submit, your store and owner dashboard are live immediately — there's no waiting period or manual approval. From here, the rest of this guide walks through filling in the details.
Open Branding in your dashboard sidebar. This is where your storefront's look and core details live:
Your storefront URL (yourslug.chalbhaee.com, or yourslug.shop.chalbhaee.com for online stores) is shown at the bottom of this page with a copy button — that's the link to share with customers until you set up a custom domain.
Categories and Products are separate sections in your sidebar. Create your categories first, then add products into them — every product needs a category.
Product fields depend on your business type:
If you run more than one branch, both Categories and Products can be filtered per branch, so you can keep each location's catalog accurate independently.
Open Locations to manage your branches and delivery coverage. Each branch has a name, address, city, an Active toggle, an optional delivery fee or discount override, and a map link.
Delivery areas are configured separately from branches — each delivery area is assigned to the branch that serves it and defined by a map point plus a radius, which powers the "locate me" auto-detection customers see at checkout.
Store hours live in Settings — a single "accepting orders" toggle plus opening and closing times. Leave the time fields blank while the toggle is on to stay open around the clock.
Also in Settings: billing configuration — discount percentage, service charge percentage, and tax/GST percentage, all applied automatically at checkout.
Customers choose delivery, pickup, or dine-in themselves at checkout — there's nothing to switch on your end for that. Orders are currently cash-on-delivery only; no payment gateway is wired in yet.
The Orders page lists every order with filter chips for status, plus filters for branch, date, and a search box for customer name, phone, or order number.
Each order shows one "next step" button that moves it forward — pending, confirmed, preparing (skipped for marts/pharmacies), ready, out for delivery, then completed — plus a Cancel option (with a confirmation prompt) available at any point before completion. Expand a row to see line items, delivery address, and any customer notes.
Reports has five tabs — Sales, Orders, Products, Promotions, and Customers — each answering a different question about how your store is performing.
Every report can be scoped to today, the last 7 or 30 days, this month, one specific day, or a custom from/to range, so you can compare periods or dig into a single day's activity.
The bell icon in your dashboard header shows a live unread count and updates in real time as new orders and events come in. Click a notification to mark it read and jump straight to the relevant page; "Mark all read" clears the badge.
Press Ctrl+K (Cmd+K on Mac), or tap the search button on mobile, to open the command palette. It jumps you to any page in your sidebar, and once you start typing, also offers direct search shortcuts into your products, customers, and orders.
By default your store lives at yourslug.chalbhaee.com. To use your own domain instead, open the Custom Domain card in Branding, type your domain, and save it.
You'll then see two things to do at your domain registrar/DNS provider:
Once both are in place, click Verify — this performs a live DNS lookup and marks your domain as verified as soon as it finds the TXT record. DNS changes can take a few minutes to a few hours to propagate depending on your provider, so if verification fails immediately after adding the record, wait a bit and try again.
